The Grants Officer is responsible for managing a portfolio of grant partnerships, collaborating with national and province-based teams to ensure effective program and project delivery, monitoring, and compliance. They will work with internal teams to maximize the sustainable outcomes of grant-funded initiatives in impacted communities. Additionally, the Grants Officer will contribute to the development and implementation of granting standards, championing best practices to ensure consistency and effectiveness across the Canadian Red Cross.
In this role you will:
- Manage a portfolio of grant partnerships and maintain partner relationships.
- Support grant partners with project implementation, problem-solving, and reporting.
- Oversee all stages of grant management, including partner validation, application assessment, contract drafting, approvals, and monitoring.
- Support grant program launch, orientation, and implementation.
- Ensure quality control and monitoring of assigned grant programs.
- Collaborate with program teams to address challenges and align solutions with grant partner needs.
- Maintain tracking tools and project files to ensure accurate reporting.
- Ensure grant lifecycle compliance with policies and guidelines, recommending process enhancements.
What we are looking for:
- Qualifications include a minimum of 4-5 years' experience and a 1-2 year post-secondary certification/diploma and/or an
equivalent combination of education and experience.• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint and database management tools. - Communication skills, diplomacy and empathy to interpret information and deliver advice, clarify client or stakeholder needs, offer solutions, and resolve escalations in new or somewhat sensitive situations.
- Experience in grants administration and monitoring of grant programs and projects.
- Ability to manage multiple grants simultaneously, track deadlines, and ensure successful program implementation.
- Ability to ensure accuracy in grant proposals/applications, financial reports, and compliance documentation.
Working Conditions:
- Work will be conducted in an office-like setting.
- May require travel to safe locations, limited exposure to adverse conditions.
- Work requires the ability to work to deadlines.
- All CRC roles are required to adapt work and priorities to support emergency response efforts, be present in person as required to support service delivery and deploy to emergency responses when appropriate and/or required (personnel availability and request for exceptions will be discussed with line management).
