About the Role
We are searching for a receptionist for a permanent part-time afternoon position. The successful candidate will be the initial point of contact for students, parents, and the public, and must be a positive, friendly, and warm brand ambassador for the School. They must handle all contact, including deliveries and inquiries, courteously, professionally, and promptly, and must enjoy working with children. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Administration, this position works in partnership with the morning receptionist.
Primary Duties
- Perform all Receptionist duties and be familiar with all Business Office procedures.
- Receive guests as a first point of contact, and handle deliveries, inquiries, and requests professionally and courteously.
- Attend to the needs of visitors, students, parents, and employees.
- Work effectively and supportively as a member of the School team.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the School administration.
- Operate the school-wide switchboard - managing and directing all incoming calls to the school.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience as a receptionist or working with the public.
- Customer Service focus.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer literacy - Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Effective decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Handle the daily pressure of a busy Reception area.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a positive and collaborative approach to work.
- Welcoming disposition and an outgoing and positive outlook.
- Interest in and ability to work with children of all ages.
- Willingness to maintain confidentiality on all School matters.
Hours of Work:
From 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, with occasional hours in the evening or on weekends as required.
