SCHEDULE: Day, 8 and 12-hour shifts. Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Access Manager is reponsible for improving access to information for patients awaiting surgery in Zone 5 and in the Network's off-site surgical clinics, and for providing them with support in managing their wait times. They also work in collaboration with the OR booking staff, the surgical team and management staff to develop tools and facilitate sound management of surgery wait lists. They must also ensure the quality of information transmitted to the provincial surgery registry. Other sectors of activity related to access and use could be added.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience in the health care field;
  • Two (2) years of experience in Management;
  • Knowledge or experience in a perioperative environment;
  • Experience working with health information technology;
  • Advanced computer skills;
  • Knowledge of descriptive statistics, data quality and their interpretation;
  • Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology and procedures;
  • Demonstrate analytical skills and ability to make recommendations;
  • Knowledge of human resources and conflict resolution;
  • Knowledge of quality improvement principles and processes;
  • Experience developing policies and procedures;
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a change agent and as a leader;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member;
  • Physically able to perform assigned duties;
  • Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;
  • Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.
