Job Description:

We are looking for a Product Owner – Salesforce Marketing Cloud to support technical delivery focused on modernizing TD's marketing automation and personalization capabilities. This role turns marketing strategy into clear user stories, manages a focused backlog, collaborates closely with partners, and helps bring to life the next generation of journeys, campaigns, and customer engagement. The ideal candidate brings curiosity, hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud exposure, strong communication skills, and a passion for helping TD advance its agile marketing transformation.

CUSTOMER

  • Support the Product Group Owner and other Product Owners in delivering the Marketing Cloud roadmap by driving sprint-to-sprint execution in a dedicated agile pod.
  • Translate high-level marketing goals (e.g., improved engagement, increased automation, enhanced personalization) into refined user stories, clear acceptance criteria, and well-defined sequencing.
  • Maintain a prioritized pod-level backlog, ensuring alignment with customer needs, marketing objectives, and roadmap direction.
  • Work closely with partners across Marketing, Digital, Analytics, and Customer Experience to clarify requirements, gather feedback, and ensure capabilities meet operational realities.
  • Participate actively in agile ceremonies (backlog refinement, planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives) and consistently represent the voice of the marketer and end user.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to deliver Marketing Cloud capabilities such as: Journey Builder flows, Email & mobile messaging enhancements, Automation Studio processes, Audience segment activation, Personalization/Interaction Studio experiences
  • Understand how Salesforce Marketing Cloud Next and the movement of personalization and segmentation into Data Cloud will influence Marketing Cloud workflows and upcoming pod priorities.
  • Communicate pod progress, risks, and dependencies in a clear, structured way to stakeholders and the Senior Product Owner.

SHAREHOLDER

  • Follow TD's agile delivery framework, marketing governance, and enterprise controls for customer data, consent management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proactively identify and escalate issues impacting delivery timelines, data quality, or customer experience.
  • Contribute to inputs for QBRs by summarizing pod accomplishments, completed user stories, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Support defect triage and prioritization to help ensure a reliable, stable Marketing Cloud environment.

EMPLOYEE / TEAM

  • Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing pod culture that values curiosity, inclusiveness, and continuous improvement.
  • Encourage open communication between developers, QA, campaign teams, data analysts, and other partners to ensure shared understanding and smooth delivery.
  • Demonstrate an eagerness to learn—deepening your understanding of Salesforce, marketing operations, and agile product management.
  • Promote psychological safety within the pod by supporting transparency, experimentation, and respectful challenge.
  • Apply TD's Colleague Promise and Shared Commitments to create a supportive and growth-oriented team environment.

BREADTH & DEPTH

  • Own the day-to-day scope for a Marketing Cloud pod, delivering increments aligned to defined use cases such as campaign automation, journey optimization, personalization placements, or channel enhancements.
  • Work closely with Senior Product Owners to ensure pod-level delivery aligns to broader Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud roadmap goals.
  • Build a working knowledge of the Salesforce Marketing stack, including Journey Builder, Email Studio, Automation Studio, Personalization/Interaction Studio, Intelligence, and integration touchpoints.
  • Contribute to technical and design discussions by providing business context, expected outcomes, and an understanding of marketing workflows.
  • Support planning for scaling capabilities across business lines by documenting user needs, common patterns, and improvement ideas.

EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION

  • Knowledge of the Salesforce Marketing Cloud tool; strong willingness to build new expertise is essential.
  • Undergraduate degree required; product, marketing, or Salesforce certifications considered assets.
  • 3–7 years of relevant experience in product ownership, digital marketing, technology delivery, or marketing operations.
  • Experience writing user stories, defining requirements, or supporting agile teams.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills; ability to translate marketing needs into clear, concise requirements.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce ecosystem trends—especially Marketing Cloud Next and its convergence with Data Cloud—is a plus.
  • Curiosity about marketing technology, journey design, personalization, and customer engagement.
