To fuel this vision, we are seeking a highly motivated Winter Intern to join our team and contribute to cutting-edge projects in risk management. This role offers a unique opportunity to support the business development of real-world AI applications, directly impacting risk management workflows. As part of our dynamic team, you will collaborate on projects that drive efficiency, automation, and strategic business value—playing a key role in shaping the future of RBC's AI-driven innovation.

What will you do?

  • Participate in the end-to-end development of high-impact AI solutions, from idea design and PoC to production deployment. Participate in the end-to-end development of high-impact AI solutions, from idea design and PoC to production deployment.

  • Focus on building real-world applications that address business challenges, rather than conducting pure research

  • Work closely with business users to understand their needs, translate business use cases into practical technical problems, and iterate on solutions based on feedback.

  • Design executive presentations, develop strategy and create communications for your project.

  • Continuously learn and keep up with the latest advancements in AI and related technologies, sharing knowledge with the team.

  • Play an integral role in engaging your critical thinking, time management and leadership skills within your team.

  • Present technical solutions and project updates to both technical peers and senior managements.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to quickly learn and adapt to new advancements in Machine Learning/Deep Learning/GenAI.

  • Ability to understand and communicate business values.

  • Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written).

  • Excellent critical thinking, time management and leadership skills.

  • Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced team environment.

  • Ability to challenge the status quo and think outside the box to develop solutions.

  • Excellent teamwork, collaboration and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with business presentations.

  • Strong interest or some experience in design using Figma.

  • A bachelor's or master's degree or higher in business administration, commerce, computer science, engineering, statistics, or a related field is preferred

Nice-to-have

  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and working with end users and clients to understand their needs.

  • Experience with user research, prototyping, wireframing, and/or experience mapping (creating journey maps, personas, and service blueprints).

  • Experience with project management tools (ex. Jira, Confluence)

  • Solid understanding of financial business insights, FinTech industry, startup industry or other related insights.

  • Interest and understanding of up-and-coming technology and methodologies.

  • Experience working in regulated or governed environments.

  • Familiarity with financial risk management concepts.

Please note: This posting is for a 4-months Winter 2026 Student placement with a start date of January 2026, and end date of April 2026. In order to be eligible for this 4-months Student position, you must either:

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of April 2026 ; or
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in April 2026), you must require the full 4-months work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.
