The Exploration team is responsible for conducting studies aimed at the discovery of ore deposits for the minerals of interest to the company in brownfield environments. Includes the identification of prospective areas and of project opportunities, planning and execution of geological exploration fieldwork and supplementary exploration activities.

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Senior Geologist to join our Exploration Team in Thompson, Manitoba. This is a permanent position.

As the Geologist, you will be responsible for supporting geological activities, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation. Liaises with external stakeholders including landowners and indigenous and local communities seeking to minimize the negative impact of exploration activity on people and the environment.

Additionally, as a Senior Geologist you will:

  • Participate in safety and environmental programs, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Responsible for ensuring that best practices are applied to resource assessment to give materiality, transparency and confidence to internal and external resource reports in compliance with the main international codes NI43-101, JORC, CRISCO and SK-1300
  • Supervise, plan, implement and execute exploration programs, including area selection, surface sampling, geological mapping, drilling, core logging, interpretation, evaluation and reporting.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as engineering and operations teams, to ensure the successful execution of geological projects and initiatives.
  • Prepare and present geological reports, maps, and other documentation to support project planning and decision-making.
  • Conduct fieldwork, including mapping, sampling, probing and gyro, to gather geological information and ensure accurate data collection.
  • Lead complex projects involving interactions with senior leadership and provide guidance to team members.
  • Create and maintain 3D geological and mineral deposit models.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development of best practices in geological activities.

About You

Education:

  • Undergraduate Degree in Geology or a related field

Experience:

  • 5 years of relevant experience
  • Registered as a P. Geo

Skills:

  • Commitment to safety and environmental sustainability.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Deliver technical reports and presentations.
  • Integrate and interpret multiple data sets with appropriate 2D and 3D software packages. (Deswik, Studio and Vulcan preferred).
