We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Finance team based in the Firm's Halifax, NS office.
Type of Position: Full-Time, Permanent

The Opportunity:
Stewart McKelvey is seeking a highly motivated and detail-driven accounting professional to join the Firm's Finance team. In this key role, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to deliver timely financial and non-financial reporting, conduct in-depth analyses, and support strategic projects and decision-making.
The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for preparing monthly financial statements and completing month-end reporting packages, as well as analyzing monthly and quarterly financial data with corresponding reconciliations to budget. The successful candidate will prepare and present monthly and quarterly non-financial performance reports for senior management and perform detailed monthly analysis and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
In addition, the Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for reconciling bank accounts each month, preparing weekly cash reports and providing related insights, creating journal entries as needed, and developing ad-hoc financial and operational reports to support internal stakeholders across the Firm. The Senior Financial Analyst also assists in preparation for the Firm's annual audit, through the provision of supporting documentation and performs other related duties as assigned.
The successful candidate should hold an undergraduate degree in Business Administration or an equivalent discipline, along with a CPA designation or recent completion of the CFE. A minimum of three to five years of experience in an accounting environment is required, with experience in a legal or professional services setting being considered as an asset.
The Senior Financial Analyst should possess advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of complex formulas and data analysis tools, and be comfortable adopting new technology. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, combined with strong business acumen and an understanding of organizational economics and financial drivers, is essential for success in this role.
