We are a 48-bed facility, and we are fully licensed by the province of Nova Scotia. Nakile maintains a reputation as one of the finest long-term care facilities in Western Nova Scotia. Hours of Work
Casual (on call), no guaranteed hours (hours will include weekdays, weekends, holiday)

Responsibilities
The Environmental Services team reports to the Department Director. This position plays an important role in supporting many aspects of maintaining our home. This role requires an individual who is focused on continuous quality improvement and possesses an understanding of a safe, clean and comfortable environment for all. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with organization and attention to detail are a requirement. Duties will be performed in accordance with the Mission, Vision, Standards, and Policies of Nakile Home for Special Care.

• Have demonstrated a philosophy of Person (resident) Centered Care
• Foster a good working relationship across departments and with Nakile Leadership
• Possess an ability to positively motivate others while modelling professional behavior
• Work well with, and be excited by, positive change (you are open minded and adaptable)
• Willingness to cross train in both Environmental & Laundry Services
• Possess basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet)
• Strong communicator (verbal and written)
• Ability to effectively manage your time, prioritize, and multitask
• Flexible with availability including evenings, weekends, holidays and short notice
• Ability to work independently as well as with team
• Able to complete work that is physical in nature, lifting, standing, walking for long periods
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Grade 12 or acceptable equivalent

The following will be considered assets:

• Previous experience in Long Term Care / Health Care Facilities
• Previous work experience in an Environmental and Laundry setting
