Job Summary

The Surgical Services Program of NL Health Services (Urban Zone) invites expressions of interest for a Plastic Surgeon at the Health Science Centre in St. John?s, Newfoundland and Labrador. All interested applicants are encouraged to apply.

The candidate will join a team of 5 plastic surgeons providing comprehensive care to Newfoundland and Labrador. They will be based out of the Health Science Centre, the Janeway Children?s Hospital and St. Clare?s Mercy Hospital, all based in St. John?s, Newfoundland. This position would be to expand access to adult craniofacial surgery and pediatric craniofacial surgery, as well as all general aspects of adult and pediatric plastic surgery.

The resources allocated for this 0.5 adult and 0.25 pediatric FTE are 1 minor procedure day and 0.5 clinic days per week adult, with 0.5 operative day and 0.5 clinic day pediatric, with an opportunity for more depending on time available. Call would be 1 in 6 weeks and cover all aspects of plastic surgery, both adult and pediatric trauma, with guaranteed resources to cover call/trauma.

Required Qualifications

  • Medical Degree and Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification in Plastic Surgery (or equivalent).
  • A fellowship focusing on pediatric craniofacial surgery is required.
