Benefits:
Inuvika is growing quickly and seeking a VDI and Virtualization expert to join our team as a Pre-Sales and Support Engineer in Canada (preferably Western Canada). You'll work with Inuvika OVD, our secure, high-performance, Linux-based virtual desktop and application delivery platform that runs across enterprises, universities, and government environments worldwide.
This hybrid role blends hands-on Linux systems work with customer-facing engagement. It's perfect for someone who's just as comfortable inside an SSH session as presenting to a technical audience, who understands how services interact across the OS, network, and hypervisor layers, and who enjoys the challenge of translating complex infrastructure into clear, elegant solutions.
We're looking for a grounded, resourceful engineer: someone who can think on their feet, trace logs across distributed systems, and move easily between Linux, Windows, and virtualization environments.
Your Main Roles:
Pre-Sales:
Deliver live product demos, proof-of-concepts, and onboarding sessions on Linux and Windows systems.
Design full OVD deployments, covering application servers, session managers, gateways, authentication, and storage layers.
Support the sales team with technical input on RFPs/RFIs and architecture designs.
Guide partners on infrastructure sizing, Windows integration, and thin-client compatibility.
Explain OVD's technical and commercial value to both IT and business audiences.
Understand and advise on CSP/MSP hosting models.
Technical Support:
Provide Tier 2/3 support to enterprise customers using OVD across Linux, Windows, and virtualized infrastructures.
Troubleshoot issues involving Ubuntu/Debian and RHEL-family systems (services, permissions, logs, network configuration, SELinux, etc.).
Diagnose authentication problems (LDAP, SAML2, RADIUS) and Windows integration challenges.
Reproduce issues in lab environments, analyze logs, and escalate collaboratively with engineering.
Assist with installation, configuration, and upgrade procedures.
Contribute to technical documentation and partner knowledge bases.
Required Skills & Experience:
5+ years in technical support, systems engineering, or pre-sales roles involving virtualization or VDI. You should have Citrix or VMware Horizon admin experience (or another virtual desktop alternative.
Strong Linux expertise:
• Confident in system administration on Ubuntu/Debian and RHEL/AlmaLinux/Rocky systems.
• Skilled with systemd, networking, storage (NFS/CIFS), firewalls, and performance tuning.
• Able to debug packages, manage repositories, and script in Bash for automation or diagnostics.
Solid Windows administration skills: Active Directory, Group Policy, user profile management, and RDP.
Understanding of authentication systems (LDAP, RADIUS, SAML2, Kerberos integration).
Networking fundamentals: DNS, VPNs, NAT, routing, certificates, and load balancing.
Hands-on experience with at least two hypervisors: VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, KVM (libvirt/QEMU), Proxmox VE, Nutanix AHV, or VergeIO.
Excellent communication and troubleshooting ability - capable of working with partners who are technical, commercial, or both.
Bonus Experience:
Thin-client platforms (IGEL, Stratodesk, Wyse).
Remote display stacks (RDP, VNC, HTML5).
Containerization (Docker, Podman) or cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
Monitoring and observability (Grafana, Prometheus).
Python scripting or light DevOps experience (Ansible, Terraform).
Second language skills
This is a role for a true cross-platform engineer - someone grounded in Linux who understands how to make it play perfectly with Windows, networking, and virtualization technologies. You'll be part of a fast-moving, globally distributed team helping customers modernize how they deliver desktops and applications.
