Eastlink is seeking a visionary and strategic leader to serve as the Director of Data Strategy & Governance, the senior-most data champion within our organization. This role will be responsible for aligning our data strategies and roadmap with the company’s overarching business objectives, driving value through data, and fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making across all departments.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Alignment & Leadership

  • Serve as the organization’s primary advocate for data, ensuring data initiatives directly support business goals.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive data strategy and roadmap that aligns with corporate priorities and growth plans.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration to embed data into the core of business planning and execution.

Leadership of the BI & Data Science Team

  • Provide leadership to the Business Intelligence and Data Science team, working with them to define and prioritize short- and long-term initiatives.
  • Participate in sprint planning and execution, ensuring alignment with business needs and resource availability/capacity.
  • Facilitate prioritization discussions with business stakeholders to identify high-impact data projects.
  • Work collaboratively with the business and technical resources to design and develop innovative solutions.
  • Develop and grow the BI and Data Science team resources, ensuring they have opportunities to grow their skills, and stay connected to the rapidly evolving technology.

Departmental Engagement

  • Engage with department leaders to understand operational challenges and opportunities.
  • Identify how data can be leveraged to improve performance, efficiency, and innovation across functions.
  • Translate business needs into actionable data solutions and analytics strategies.
  • Lead roadmap and planning sessions with senior management, translating technical concepts into business value.
  • Communicate the impact and ROI of data initiatives through clear metrics and storytelling.
  • Advocate for continued investment in data infrastructure, talent, and innovation.

Data Governance & Security

  • Establish and enforce robust data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and internal security protocols.
  • Promote data integrity, quality, and ethical usage across the organization.

Requirements:

  • A degree in data science, analytics, or a related field, along with practical experience in data analysis and data solutions implementation.
  • Advanced analytical skills, and a strong grasp of business principles to design and implement effective data strategies.
  • Proven experience in leading teams, communicating vision, and influencing stakeholders at all levels of the business.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality, data analytics platforms, and business system requirements analysis.
  • Ability to link data initiatives directly to business objectives and drive commercial value.
  • Experience with modern data architectures and technologies, along with implementing data solutions of significant scope and scale.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to effectively engage with both internal and external stakeholders.
