ASSOCIATED ALUMNI OFFICE

The Associated Alumni Office works on behalf of UNB and the independently incorporated UNB Associated Alumni to engage 100,000+ alumni living around the world in the life and success of UNB. Our work is guided by the Alumni Engagement Strategy and aligned with UNB's strategic vision. We proudly tell the story of our alumni and alma mater; celebrate university, student and alumni milestones and achievements; foster a culture of connection and contribution among students and alumni; and develop programs to help broaden and deepen alumni engagement. We support association governance, plan and support 100+ events annually, publish communications across multiple platforms, and offer many services, benefits and engagement opportunities for alumni.

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 8:15 am - 4:30 pm |36.25 hours per week

Additional Working Conditions:

  • The office is bi-campus in nature and host events across New Brunswick, Atlantic Canada, Canada and all over the world. The incumbent may be required to travel as well as regular travel between campuses.
  • Due to the nature of the work the incumbent may be required to work outside of normal business hours at alumni events, or to meet with alumni volunteers.

Salary Range: $54,767 - $74,642 per annum

YOUR FOCUS

The Alumni Engagement Coordinator reports to the Executive Director and works as part of the Alumni Events & Outreach team to engage as many alumni as possible in the life and success of UNB through programs, events, and outreach. The coordinator is responsible for their own portfolio of events and programs, supporting events and programs run by team members and alumni volunteers, and the promotion of our events and programs.

  • Plan, organize, promote and execute alumni programs and events to support the Association's strategic plan and assist team members in planning and implementing events and programs.
  • Serve as a liaison between the campus community and alumni, making valuable connections to support our alumni and our university community.
  • Plan and implement student recognition and engagement activities in collaboration with others including student government, student services, faculties, etc.
  • Lead the promotional efforts related to our events and programs including developing and executing promotional strategies and plans, designing and sending email invitations through our bulk email platform, coordinating social media posts to promote events, and engaging in direct outreach to alumni who may be in interested in taking part.
  • Establish and build relationships with a wide range of alumni, locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.
  • Recruit, train, support and manage alumni volunteers in a variety of engagement opportunities.
  • Plan and organize alumni and new grad outreach activities associated with graduation.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A bachelor's degree from the University of New Brunswick.
  • 3-5 years working in a related field, such as event planning and promotion, member based non-profit association, or alumni engagement.

Additional Strengths

  • Experience or aptitude in digital engagement platforms such as bulk email system, CRM, website management and social media.
  • A natural collaborator who builds and maintains positive relationships with a wide variety of people.
  • Close attention to detail, highly organized with demonstrated project management experience.
