This is accomplished by our team of competent, caring staff interacting respectfully with residents in a safe, comfortable, home-life environment.

The CCA will provide assistance with activities of daily living to Alderwood's residents to promote holistic care and independence with their scope of employment and standards of Continuing Care Assistants. The CCA must demonstrate accountability, resident-focus, and work in collaboration with all other Alderwood Team members. Shifts are 12 hours, 24/7, with full-time hours available.

Duties of the CCA include, but are not limited to:

- Provide appropriate personal care; bathing, dressing, assistance with ambulation/re-positioning, activities/programming

- Communicate clearly and professionally with all residents and co-workers

- Apply environmental and security measures

- Recognize common chronic illnesses experienced by individuals

- Monitor and observe any changes in resident behaviour, and consult RN/LPN for guidance or assistance where required

- Respond appropriately to the physiological, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of people across the life cycle

- Document and report as per Alderwood policies.

- Promote healthy lifestyle choices and illness prevention

- Demonstrate appropriate, respectful, professional behaviour

- Protect own health and health of others by adopting safe work practices, reporting unsafe conditions immediately, and attending all relevant in-services

- Maintain good personal physical and mental health, to ensure willingness and capability to meet physical demands of position

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Casual

Pay: $22.22-$24.09 per hour
