Job Information and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Dean or their designate the Graduate Program Administrator will:
- Process necessary documents and reports as required by academic regulations and as required by the Dean's Office, Enrolment Service, FGSR and the Graduate Program Coordinators
- Identify, acquire and develop information resources useful to applicants, students and program coordinators
- Provide graduate program enrolment support to the Program Coordinators, the Faculty of Graduate Studies & Research and Enrolment Services
- Provide other operational support to the Graduate Program Coordinators at their request or at the request of the Dean or designate.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the graduate programs ensuring effective use of resources, facilities, and systems.
- Update the relevant information of the Graduate Programs on the SSB website and e-brochures.
- Represent occasionally Sobey School of Business at fairs and during visits to and of other Universities.
- Provide updated relevant information on the Graduate Programs to the Graduate Recruitment personnel in the Sobey School of Business.
- Guide students on matters related to university policy, academic regulations, processes and procedures, student services, by providing advice and referrals
- Manage the scholarships, bursaries and awards process for graduate students as required by the terms of the scholarship and bursaries.
- Ensure communication of and compliance with the academic policies of the graduate programs including student advising and liaison with faculty, Graduate Program Coordinators and other units on campus
- Monitor and analyse student and program data to inform enrolment management processes, guide academic planning and support student success
- Provide relevant information to Communications and Marketing to be used to promote Graduate Programs.
- Help coordinate events such as the Bob Shaw Case Competition, MTEI Durland Competition, the (E)MBA International experience, etc.
- Help coordinate student events including orientation, Speaker Series, Conferences, Open Houses, visits of organizations, etc.
Experience and Education Requirements
To be the successful Graduate Program Administrator you will have
- A Bachelor of Commerce Degree in a business-related field (e.g. Accounting, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Management); preference will be given to candidates that have completed a Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Adult Education (MEd) or Student Services (MEd SS).
- Minimum 3 years' related experience.
- Professional judgement and discretion
- Excellent oral written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
