Port Hawkesbury Paper is currently seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our Clerical team. Reporting to the HR Manager, the ideal applicant is a team player who can work independently and safely in a fast-paced, deadline driven work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Work scheduling for Maintenance Employees (vacations, holidays, on-call lists)
- Assist with entry and verification of payroll data
- Payroll reconciliations and reporting
- Vacation and holiday entitlement calculations
- Maintaining files and confidential employee information
- Answering employees' schedule and payroll inquiries
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned
Experience/Education Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in office or business administration
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an administrative/service role
- Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Excel and Word)
- Experience in payroll administration for a unionized workforce
Skills/Competency Requirements:
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Demonstrated problem solving and multi-tasking abilities
- Solid time management skills and ability to work independently under pressure and deadlines
- Comprehensive understanding of payroll functions as they relate to collective agreement administration
Compensation: $30.53/hour per Collective Agreement.
