What is the opportunity?

The Senior Manager, Retail Funds Transfer Pricing is responsible for owning end to end the maintenance and enhancement of Corporate Treasury's Retail Funds Transfer Pricing forecasted rates, and related methodologies and processes related to transfer of interest rate risk (IRR) and liquidity risk. The role has a direct impact on the management reporting of the transfer priced businesses (Canadian Banking, WM, I&TS platforms).

This role will contribute to the growth of a center of expertise for Funds Transfer Pricing including Interest Rate Risk & Liquidity management to support regulatory, auditory, and internal bodies inquiries related to Funds Transfer pricing.

What will you do?

Funds Transfer Pricing

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of RBC's non-trading funds transfer pricing framework that
    • provides market and customer behavior-based pricing guidance for the retail bank's products and services.
    • transfers and/or prices interest rate and liquidity risks inherent in the products for risk management; and
    • provide a robust basis for market-based performance management reporting
  • Manages Retail FTP's Financial Outlook Models (FOM) process for CT's monthly forecast for interest rate risk and liquidity risk funds transfer pricing rates and modelling processes. Acts as key liaison with HO Performance Management on Forecast/Plan.
  • Responsible for maintaining and enhancing rate forecast models and related documentation, performing data analytics on balance sheet inputs and rate outputs, investigating FTP queries and rate questions as needed.
  • Holds position of QRM SME for Retail FTP team. Assist senior members of the FTP team with data extraction, power point decks and analysis supporting FTP methodology White Papers.
  • Supports Retail FTP Daily Rate indication process for CB and WM as back up support.
  • Collaborates with senior team members to develop, automate and enhance various reports, excel models, and processes.
  • Support Senior team members in ad-hoc tasks and special projects (CUSO, Harmony).

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • Undergraduate/Graduate Degree in one of the following: Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Risk Management
  • 4+ years related work experience
  • Knowledge of Funds Transfer Pricing concepts and application
  • Technical: MS Office Suite, Excel modelling, VBA, SQL
  • Familiarity with automation/programming skills
  • Good understanding of mathematical/financial/risk concepts
  • Good understanding of bank's products and balance sheet
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with VBA or other automation/programming languages, databases (SQL Server), business intelligence (Tableau, Power BI), statistical software (R), are preferred.
  • Understanding of the drivers of bank margins across products.
