Job Description
What will you do?
- Provide the first line supervision of direct report employees in the RBC Tactical Threat Analysis (TTA) team, maintaining performance tracking and training plan
- Manage workload and priorities of the team, ensuring urgent cases are addressed in priority
- Provide 7/24/365 support for urgent security issues escalated from any RBC Global Security Operations Centre team member, GS and other lines of business
- Oversee the effort to investigate non-control events, escalating the proper events to the incident handling team and management where appropriate. Also to manage the effort to continuously reduce non-impactful or inaccurate cases within the tactical workflow
- Manage the relationship with existing business groups to ensure existing services are relevant, and works cohesively with RBC Global Security Operations Centre teams
- Provide guidance to the TTA team members in incident hunting and liaise with Threat Intelligence team in emerging threats, Cyber Crisis Response in supply chain compromise cases, and Cyber Threat Hunt events and testing cases
- Develop and maintain the tactical processes and procedures according to the evolving threat landscape
- Maintain Tactical Threat operational efficiency and avoid redundant processes
- React quickly by adjusting the priorities according to the threat landscape and leveraging the best resources and tools for accurate analysis
- Develop and maintain lines of communication with RBC Global Security Operations Centre leadership and GS leadership
- Coordinate with the appropriate technology teams in the generation of the informative security metrics reporting
What do you need to succeed?
Must have:
- A minimum of 3 years of people management experience
- Experience in Security Operations Center
- Management and leadership experience
- Understanding of RBC's global security operations capability and the role technology plays as an enabler of our business.
- General knowledge of all aspects of Security Operations Center and how the organization supports/ adds value to the rest of the organization
- Equal comfort and credibility with security operations and GS stakeholders
- General working knowledge of financial systems
- Skills for conflicts and issues resolution and escalation
- Skills for scheduling of resources across the global
- Strong collaboration, conceptual and innovation skills
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills
- Strong impact and influence competencies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong Project/Program management capabilities
- Attention to Detail
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in information security and general IT functions
- Bachelor's degree in IT related disciplines or relevant experiences
- Collaboration across multiple IT disciplines, preferably across the globe
- Certifications in security preferred (eg. CISSP, GCIA, GCIH, GREM, GCFA)
- Microsoft Windows and Unix Operating Systems basics
- Networking knowledge with TCP/IP packet level knowledge
- Strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of SIEM technology and operations
- Understanding of common exploitation techniques
- Knowledge of Incident Handling and forensics skills
- Knowledge of relevant technology
- Knowledge of IT Standards and Methodologies
