What you will do
The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is seeking to create an inventory for current and future vacancies in the Bridge Crew within the Edmundston District.
Reporting to the Bridge Supervisor the successful candidate will be responsible for the following responsibilities:
- constructing and erecting scaffolding;
- hanging staging;
- casting concrete;
- painting;
- constructing special components for bridges;
- repairing damaged sections of wooden bridges;
- building falsework and temporary bridges.
Work environment:
- Office location: Edmundston or Perth-Andover.
- Work holidays, weekends, shift and/or variable hours.
- May work in adverse weather conditions and must be able to work at heights.

Essential Qualifications:
- Completion of grade ten (10) and have two (2) years related work experience.
- Valid New Brunswick Class 5 driver's license.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Asset Qualification(s):
Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate the following asset:
- experience in the maintenance and construction of bridges.
Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

SALARY:
Bridgeworker: $26.12 per-hour, based on a 40- hour week.
