The College is currently seeking a dynamic and competent individual for the position of Instructor, Electrician, Professional and Part-time Learning for the upcoming Solar Photovoltaic Systems, Installation, Connections, and Maintenance course. Position Type: Casual to March 2026
Salary Range: $33.85 to $52.08 per hour, based on experience and level of post-secondary education.
As part of the School of Professional and Part-time Learning and reporting to the Business Development Operations Manager, the Instructor is responsible for ensuring planning and preparing instructional materials and resources; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders; as well as other related duties.
Specific instructional areas may include, but may not be limited to:
- Solar PV Installation and Safety
 - Solar Racking System
 - Electrical Wiring and Cable Management
 - Installation of MLPE's and Solar Modules
 - System Testing and Commissioning
 - Electrical Codes and Authority Requirements
 - Regulations and Electrical Codes
 
The successful incumbent must also be well versed in the use and interpretation of the Canadian Electrical Code as it relates to the above areas as well as be willing and able to integrate technology and active student learning techniques into teaching practices.
Education and Experience:
- A valid Journeyperson Certificate of Qualification in Electrical Construction or Industrial Electrical with a Red Seal Certificate.
 - Preference may be given to candidates who have a minimum of three (3) years of related, recent work experience at the Journey person's level.

- Highly flexible with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to navigate and build relationships effectively throughout the organization.
 - Working Knowledge of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
 - Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
 - Demonstrated problem-solving skills, analytical ability, and innovative thinking.
 - Self-motivated, service and results oriented.
 - Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
 - Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and within a team.
