About the Opportunity

This is a key technical leadership position for a strategic software architect who thrives on solving complex technical challenges in a fast-paced environment. In this highly visible role, you will lead the direction and prioritization of digital investments, taking a hands-on role in delivering scalable, API-driven integrations and custom applications that power real-time, personalized experiences. Your work will empower consumers—public, club members, loyalty members, residents and guests—to access information, request services, make reservations, order food, buy tickets, book fitness classes and enjoy life on their own terms. Working cross-functionally, you will ensure digital applications are reliable, scalable, engaging, secure, and aligned with business priorities. You will:

  • Ensure solutions are well architected to meet product requirements with room to scale
  • Provide expert counsel across organizational initiatives related to technology, programming, integrations and software development. You will work closely with tech stack vendors to deploy new technologies, overseeing integrations with in-house systems and teams.
  • Monitor and evaluate emerging technologies within your area of expertise, offering comparative analysis against technologies already in use, driving recommendations and decisions
  • Provide technical guidance to project teams and oversee all custom development, programming for integrations, measurement of performance and more
  • Ensure digital roadmap and application development is informed by data, user personas/research, desired brand experience

About You

In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and delivery; 3+ years experience with point of sale and/or e-commerce development and integrations; including mobile apps and AI assisted tools (ideally for a B2C environment)
  • Deep technical experience (advanced knowledge in at least one or more programming language, advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes) with proficiency in Microsoft 365, Git/Github, React, Java, MySQL/PostgresQL, AWS, GCP, Cloudflare, etc.
  • Practical cloud native experience
  • Understanding of data integration principles, and experience with end-to-end product delivery
  • Experienced in UX/CX/UI and experience with large-scale digital transformation projects considered an asset
  • A commitment to delivering accessible, secure and highly engaging digital experiences
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, being able to translate highly complex technical information into plain language for peers, leadership and operations
