Job Description
What is the opportunity?
In the role of Manager, Data and Privacy Risk within the WM Data Management Office (DMO), you will provide essential 1st Line of Defense support and expertise to North American WM Businesses on Data and Privacy Risk matters of significance.
What will you do?
Provide expertise and guidance on Data and Privacy Risk considerations – including AI - for major change management initiatives and process changes to in-scope businesses
Monitor developments in Data and Privacy Risk policies and practices from 2nd Line of Defense Functional Partners for applicability to WM North American businesses; provide interpretative guidance on policies and practices as required
Create and deliver Data and Privacy Risk metrics – Key Risk Indicators, Risk Appetite Measures, etc. – for WM globally
Develop metrics to monitor WM DMO progress in fulfilling Data and Privacy Risk Assessment activities, and derive business insights and learnings from these activities
Participate actively in selected Data and Privacy Risk projects supporting global WM objectives
Contribute to WM DMO readiness for Enterprise Data Policy requirements
Support partner teams – such as Operational Risk and IT – with expertise and guidance on Data and Privacy matters
Support a strong Data and Privacy culture of by advocating for responsible and efficient uses of data; influence key internal stakeholders by way of education, communication, reporting and commitment
What do you need to succeed?
3-5 years' experience within a global, data-centric Risk or Analytics-type role
Strong written and oral communication skills, with familiarity in designing outputs for a variety of stakeholders
Strong analytical (qualitative and quantitative) and problem-solving skills with focus on attention to detail.
Strong administrative, documentation, planning and organizational skills. Proven ability to manage competing demands.
Self-sufficient with the ability to work independently and in a team environment. Experience with process mapping, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Proficient in technical systems and MS applications such as Excel, Word, Access, Outlook etc.
University Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Nice to Have:
Strong topical background, including minimum of 2-3 years Privacy and/or Data Management experience, preferably at RBC
Familiarity with Financial Institutions, particularly Wealth Management style businesses (brokerage, asset management, etc.)
Familiarity with RBC Risk taxonomy, and Archer functionality
