Job Description

What is the opportunity?

RBC Capital Markets, a leading global investment banking company, is at the forefront of innovation in global banking, finance, and capital markets. We deliver best-in-class services and products to corporations, institutional investors, asset managers, and governments worldwide, empowering them to achieve their goals.

We are looking for a seasoned Capital Markets Business Transformation Lead (Program Manager) with deep domain expertise in Capital Markets and a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, cross-functional initiatives. In this senior-level role, you will spearhead the development, delivery, and adoption of a critical cross-asset platform that bridges all Trade Management, Back Office Settlements, and External Processes.

Reporting into the Business and Client Services (BCS) department, you will build stakeholder confidence, drive results, and unlock the full potential of this transformational program.

This is a rare opportunity to lead at the intersection of technology, operational excellence, and business strategy on a global stage.

What will you do?

The successful candidate will oversee every aspect of this complex and high-priority program spanning cross-functional business and technology teams. Specifically:

Program Leadership & Oversight

  • Provide hands-on leadership to steer program objectives, break down ambitious goals into tangible outcomes, and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of delivery—on time and within budget.

  • Partner with business stakeholders, technology teams, product owners, and global leaders to create and maintain alignment on priorities, program roadmaps, and critical success metrics.

  • Oversee execution frameworks, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and value delivery across all phases of the program.

  • Establish governance structures and lead execution forums, such as Executive Steering Committees or senior stakeholder updates, with exceptional communication and accountability.

Cross-Functional Program Integration

  • Act as the central point for alignment between front office, middle office, and back-office teams—including FX, Money Markets, Repos, Settlements, and analytical functions.

  • Drive strong collaboration across subject matter experts and distributed teams to ensure high-quality program outcomes reflecting regulatory, client, and operational requirements.

  • Manage detailed dependency mapping for integration across critical systems such as TOMS, Murex, Monaco Apex, RIMMS, Stock Record, and other platforms.

Risk Management & Problem Solving

  • Aggressively identify, document, mitigate, and resolve risks, hurdles, and bottlenecks. Own the response to cross-system issues, ensuring both short- and long-term resolutions.

  • Foster proactive problem-solving to break down silos and ensure harmony across provisioned resources, teams, and competing priorities.

Program Metrics and Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor program performance using tailored agile metrics, sprint reviews, and financial deliverables, ensuring teams meet established milestones for quality and timing.

  • Promote data-driven iterative development cycles with a focus on continuous improvement. Take feedback from retrospectives to adapt and evolve the program execution strategy.

Stakeholder Success

  • Act as a trusted change agent and key advisor to senior management, ensuring the priorities of both the business and technical teams are aligned toward mutual goals.

  • Deliver clear communication to diverse stakeholder audiences, from tactical scrum updates to strategic executive-level presentations.

What you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • 10+ years of Program Management experience, with a demonstrated ability to manage large-scale, multi-stakeholder projects in Capital Markets.

    • Prior work on global implementations spanning business and front-to-back systems.

  • Expertise in delivering technology solutions for Capital Markets financial products, including FX, Money Markets, Repos, and cross-asset instruments, as well as downstream processes such as settlements, stock records, reconciliation, and middle office operations.

  • Familiarity with financial platforms such as TOMS, Murex, Monaco Apex, RIMMS, Stock Record, RATS, and ICI, with the ability to assess cross-system integration and downstream implications.

  • Strong working knowledge of Program Delivery, SDLC, Agile/iterative delivery methodologies; ability to champion iterative development over waterfall approaches.

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, including experience presenting complex program deliverables and trade-offs to C-Suite executives or steering committees.

  • Exceptional resource planning, budgeting, and dependency management experience spanning distributed teams.

  • Proven risk management expertise: ability to detect early signs of project divergence and act swiftly to ensure alignment.

Nice-to-have:

  • Deep product knowledge, including settlement lifecycle, liquidity management, and regulatory dependencies.

  • Prior experience as a business analyst supporting system design and process re-engineering initiatives.

  • Professional certifications in program or project management, such as PMP, CSM, or SAFe Agilist, or financial services certifications, including CFA Level I or II or Financial Risk Manager (FRM).

  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and how they pertain to Capital Markets.

  • A comprehensive Total Rewards Program including bonuses and flexible benefits, competitive compensation, commissions, and stock where applicable

  • Leaders who support your development through coaching and managing opportunities

  • Ability to make a difference and lasting impact.

  • Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team.
