Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager of Hospital and Clinical Services, Outpatient Programs, The Registered Nurse IIB is responsible for coordination and leadership of a comprehensive program for Ambulatory Care / Pain Medicine and other services to be determined in collaboration with the manager.

The Registered Nurse IIB communicates directly with patients/families to assess the patient's needs and coordinate care and supports by liaising with physicians and other members of the health care team and other programs/health system resources. The Registered Nurse IIB also provides support and counselling to patients/families regarding treatment plans and recommendation of care, coordinates and participates in clinics, and assists in overall system navigation.

This Registered Nurse IIB functions in a leadership capacity, acting as a clinical consultant to staff within the Outpatient Programs / Pain Medicine, provincial hospitals and community agencies. The Registered Nurse IIB participates in clinical research, collects and analyzes relevant statistics on patient diagnosis, reports on workload statistics, and support frontline needs within Ambulatory Care / Pain Medicine.

Constantly moves/lifts up to 10 lbs., regularly moves/lifts up to 25 lbs. and occasionally is required to restrain/reposition/move/lift up to 30 lbs. Pushes/pulls up to medium force.
Constantly stands/walks and works in awkward or cramped positions to assist with procedures.
Constantly uses fine finger/precision, auditory, sensory and visual concentration to provide and conduct risk assessments, observe/monitor patients, to complete documents, follow directions, administer medications, etc.
May be subject to time pressures/deadlines and subject to lack of control over work pace.

Required Qualifications:

? Graduation from an approved/recognized school of nursing program is required.

? Current and continuing practicing licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL) is required.

? Competency in reading and interpreting EKG (willingness to complete)

? Minimum of five (5) years clinical experience in Outpatient Programs and/or Pain Medicine.

? Effective conflict management and resolution skills.
? Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
? Ability to design and deliver clear, concise, and engaging educational materials.
? Proficiency in computer applications and digital tools relevant to healthcare education.
? Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
? Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning.
? A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
? A satisfactory certificate of conduct from the local police authority.
