Job Description

What is the opportunity?

In this role you will manage the daily operational needs of the Corporate Action teams, this includes people and process management. You will oversee end-to-end processing of corporate action events, which will include announcement, client response tracking, tendering, payment processing and reconciliations, and actively participate in identifying and implementing continuous process improvement efficiencies and operational excellence along with risk mitigation programs. In addition, you will ensure effective staff management with ongoing optimization of organizational structure and efficiency with a focus on progressive refinement of overall team framework and oversight of Proxy and Class Actions

What will you do?

  • Ensure accurate and timely announcement and processing of all corporate actions within agreed upon standards
  • Ensure quality of service delivered by our entitlements support teams is in line with service level agreements while ensuring superior quality, timeliness and cost effectiveness of information delivery to internal and external clients.
  • Support Securities Lending Entitlement processing adhering to both lender and borrower requirements.
  • Effectively manage the relationships between the group and key internal departments to balance service, risk efficiency and staff well-being.
  • Ensure operational risk events (ORE's) are kept to an absolute minimum and where occurring are not repetitive in nature as part of managing key risk indicators
  • Maintenance of satisfactory internal and external Audit/Regulatory/Risk Ratings and reviews.

What do you need to succeed?

Must haves:

  • 5 to 7 years' experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the end-to-end Corporate Action Lifecyle.
  • Demonstrated leadership, supervisory and people management abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure, managing workloads and time efficiently to meet stringent deadlines in a stressful environment
  • Client Focus
  • Sound judgment at evaluating risk
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility towards working hours to meet business needs
