Job Description
What is the opportunity?
An RBC Dominion Securities branch located in Toronto is seeking an experienced Associate to join a large Top Tier Executive Council Team. This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team. Your skills will deepen client relationships by offering high value service and support to the clients, the Investment Advisor, and the team.
What will you do?
- Provide initiative-taking and superior client service with a problem-resolution focus and attention to details.
- Consult with various head office departments for execution as necessary.
- Be willing to answer our busy phones and complete the task/request/trade from the client to the best of your abilities with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills for reporting notes to Sales Force and sharing valuable information and collaboration with team members.
- Respond to client account inquiries and remain accountable to follow-up, as required.
- Willingness to take on all levels of cash management tasks such as: identifying and clearing trade debits, raising cash for regular scheduled transactions, sending out on-demand funds, assisting clients with sending in funds to their DS accounts.
- Assist clients with WM Online set up, access, navigation, e-statement switch or retrieval.
- Assist clients and their Accountants (our COIs) with custom tax reporting as needed.
- Gather research reports, run client portfolio reports as requested by the IA.
- Assist with generating ideas and execution of multiple marketing initiatives such as our weekly and quarterly newsletters.
- Project management independence and ability to complete special projects on required timeline.
- Enjoy opportunities to do challenging work and to build close relationships with clients.
- Participate and be a team lead on updates such as operational procedures, compliance, new technology and best practices.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Conduct and Practices Handbook Course (CPH)
- A self-directed individual with a growth and goals-oriented mindset
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- High quality time management skills
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
Nice-to-have
- Knowledge of RBC DS systems and procedures
- 2 years or more of professional experience within investment industry
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong problem solving and analytical
- skills
- Advanced client service skills
