FGNB290 - Student Project Coordinator
Internship Placement for Winter 2026 Term

Location: 20 McGloin Street, Fredericton or Remote
Number of placements: 1
Salary: $18.00/hour
Hours per week: Flexible (around 20 hours)
Placement Duration: January - April 2026
Department: Tourism Heritage and Culture (THC)
Placement Description: This placement provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in project coordination, public policy implementation, and cross-sector collaboration to address complex issues. The student will assist with implementing and tracking the Physical Activity Strategy and 3-Year Action Plan, working closely with the Manager of Physical Activity and Active Transportation and key partners to support provincial and regional initiatives that encourage movement, increase physical activity, and reduce sedentary behaviours.
This role offers an opportunity for skills development and hands-on experience.
Need to have:

  • Language requirement: English or French
  • Studying in Kinesiology, Recreation and Sport Studies, Business Administration, Public Policy, or Social Sciences
  • Project management, coordination, or analytical skills

Nice to have: The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and project management skills, familiarity with MS Office and collaborative tools such as SharePoint, Teams, and Excel tracking, as well as an interest in physical activity, health promotion, or government policy. They should be able to synthesize information, think critically, and demonstrate initiative and accountability in their work.
