Internship Placement for Winter 2026 Term

Location: 20 McGloin Street, Fredericton or Hybrid
Number of placements: 1
Salary: $18.00/hour
Hours per week: Flexible (around 20 hours)
Placement Duration: January - April 2026
Department: Tourism, Heritage, and Culture (THC)
Placement Description: This placement involves opening and closing heritage sites, which will require travel outside of Fredericton and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. The student will be responsible for cataloguing and inventorying heritage and archaeological collections, updating databases, conducting archival research, digitizing historic documents, and supporting the delivery of Archaeology and Heritage Branch programs. This role provides hands-on experience in heritage conservation and archival management while helping to preserve and make important historical records more accessible. The placement also includes opportunities for professional growth through career-focused training, self-development workshops, and personalized mentorship.
This role offers an opportunity for skills development and hands-on experience.
Need to have:

  • Language requirement: English or Bilingual
  • Enrolled in post-secondary institution in fields of Archaeology, Anthropology, History, or Museum Studies
  • Able to travel around the province

Nice to have: Experience in research, data entry, and report writing, with a background in archaeology, museums, or built heritage. Able and comfortable working independently.
