Placement Duration: January - April 2026
Department: Social Development (SD)
Placement Description: This placement supports the Capital Improvement Program by helping to prioritize facility improvement needs identified in current Facility Condition Assessment (FCA) reports for nursing homes. The student will assist in strategically planning new projects aligned with the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure's short- and medium-term goals, while also helping to reassess previous FCA reports to develop a long-term vision for capital improvements over the next decade. This role contributes directly to strategic planning for the ongoing upgrade and sustainability of nursing home infrastructure.
This role offers an opportunity for skills development and hands-on experience.
Need to have:

• Language requirement: Bilingual
• Studying in an Engineering program
• Upper year post-secondary education in Bachelor of Sciences specializing in Civil Engineering

Nice to have: The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills, along with excellent teamwork, cooperation, and attention to detail. They should be able to address and solve problems by breaking them down into smaller parts and recognizing patterns or connections between situations that may not be immediately obvious. The ability to identify key or underlying issues in complex situations is also important for success in this role.
