Department Overview:

TD's Analytics, Insights and Artificial Intelligence (AI2) team provides consultative support with data & analytics-based business insights and/or solutions to guide decision making and/or strategic planning. AI2 is an exciting team to be a part of as we are transforming how we provide key insights and opportunities for our business partners to better serve our customers.

The Transformation Enablement and Customer Experience (TECE) AI2 Marketing Analytics team supports Marketing partners to elevate Customer Experience with Marketing triggered inbound and outbound programs. We work with Marketing partners to address their analytics needs by providing end-to-end support of data, reporting, analytics, insights, and artificial intelligence solutions.

Job Description:

We are seeking Data Scientists to support the development and ongoing enhancement of Marketing contact strategy. This involves end to end analysis of existing TD Marketing processes to understand impact to the Customer. This includes requirements gathering , data exploration, documentation and presenting findings in business-friendly language.

As a Data Scientist II, these are the essential responsibilities of this role:

• Analysis of Customer Behaviour to enable Marketers with insights to improve relevance of Marketing campaigns, by layering Customer propensity with channel frequency and channel combinations
• Ability to formulate hypotheses and test them
• Be comfortable to take on ambiguous data exploratory exercises and able to remove ambiguity for self and partners, by understanding data and explaining to others
• Analysis, design and support of technical data management solutions on various projects ranging in complexity and size
• Collaborating with other Data Scientists on the team as well as non-technical partners to develop analysis plans to ultimately produce new and creative analytic solutions that will become core work you're doing
• Work closely with business owners to find opportunities and serve as an ambassador for data science
• Design and deliver enterprise analytic solutions for customers
• Basic understanding of machine learning model output and ability to practically apply model output
• Build complex statistical models that learn from and scale to petabytes of data
• Analytical thought leadership and staying ahead of developments in data mining and the application of data science

Job Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience in delivering high quality, high impact analytical solutions to business problems
  • High proficiency in Python/PySpark/Azure (experience working in cloud – Databricks environment preferred) + SQL – comfortable in complex data wrangling exercises, manipulation of large volume, high frequency data for analytical purposes on a Big Data platform (3+ years)
  • Demonstrated experience of developing and implementing statistical models (descriptive) as well as machine learning models
• Experience collaborating using GitHub
• Under-graduate or equivalent experience in a relevant technical field (Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics/Statistics, Operations Research) ideally with a specialization in data mining/machine learning
