Your main responsibilities

  • Apply and promote Englobe's health and safety policies;
  • Participate on project teams in the planning and delivery of a range of contaminated sites projects (Phased Environmental Site Assessments, remediation, risk assessment, monitoring programs, etc.), including historical research, site inspections, oversight of drilling and remediation contractors;
  • Conduct field programs and technical data collection including soil, surface water, sediment and groundwater sampling programs;
  • Preparation of reports including data review and supporting document creation;
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and costing of work programs, as required;
  • Perform other field and office responsibilities, as required to support Englobe's multi-disciplinary projects; and,
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, laboratories, regulators, and third parties, as required.

What makes you unique

  • College diploma/ university degree in Environmental Engineering, Earth Sciences, or other environmental related field;
  • Junior level position but also willing to consider applicants with demonstrated previous experience;
  • Knowledgeable of northern Ontario's environment, natural processes and local species;
  • Capable of using motorboats, all-terrain vehicles and snow machines;
  • Knowledge of both provincial and federal environmental regulations would be an asset;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to perform detailed analysis in various software programs;
  • Ability to use MS Word and MS Excel is an asset;
  • Ability to use various hand and powered tools an asset;
  • Possession of or eligibility to obtain Security Clearance;
  • Attention to detail is a must for this position;
  • Multi-day travel throughout northwestern Ontario is required;
  • Possession of a valid Ontario driver's license is required;
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and consideration for health and safety;
  • Registration with PEO or PGO, or eligibility to become a Professional Engineer or Geoscientist is considered an asset.
