St. Thomas University is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Comptroller to oversee its accounting operations and lead the Financial Services team. Reporting to the Vice-President (Finance and Administration), the Comptroller manages all accounting functions, ensures accurate financial reporting, and supports the annual budget process. The role also includes oversight of the Colleague information system and serves as a key financial resource for the University community.

Full-time, permanent (35 hours per week; Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.)
Classification: Exempt, E2
Start Date: January 5, 2026
- Manage accounting for operating and endowment funds, including year-end procedures and audit preparation.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, budget reports, and funding agency submissions.
- Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
- Coordinate reconciliations, account analysis, and project accounting.
- Manage cash flow and supports annual budget development.
- Liaise with departments, faculty, staff, and students on financial matters.
- Maintain relationships with external auditors, banks, and other agencies.
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- You have a CPA designation.
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, including supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and accounting software.
- Familiarity with university financial administration is an asset.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
