The Opportunity:
Dr. Arshia Haqani, located in Moncton, NB, is seeking a Full-Time Medical Office Administrator to join her team.
This opportunity is meant for an individual who has experience working as an office administrator within a health care setting. Key Responsibilities, as required/applicable:
- Manages incoming/outgoing inquiries by phone and in person in a helpful, respectful and efficient manner.
- Manages and maintains the physician's schedule.
- Provides general administrative support to the physician.
- Maintains electronic medical records via EMR software and prepares routine and ad hoc reports using the EMR system.
- Processes incoming and outgoing mail, faxes and general correspondence.
- Helps order and re-stock office and clinical supplies, ensuring that exam rooms are stocked appropriately.
- Performs billing procedures (processing payments for provincial, third party, uninsured services and reconciliation).
- Assists with coordination of referrals to specialists, diagnostic imaging, and laboratory testing and conveys pertinent information to the patient.
- Performs all other related administrative tasks or special tasks.
Schedule & Location:
- The medical office administrator position requires availability to work on-site from Monday to Friday, 8 hours daily (excluding evenings, weekends, and STAT holidays).
- The clinic is located at 1116 Mountain Rd (Clinic C), Moncton NB.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency with a computer (including using the internet, electronic medical record system, and MS Office software).
- Demonstrates excellent documentation skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Exhibit compassion and patience.
- Self-motivated individual who has the ability to work independently and as a team.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by fostering a mindset of innovation, problem solving, and excellence.
- Ability to maintain a high regard for confidentialy and advocacy for patients.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in English is required, proficiency in French is considered an asset.
Experience/Education:
- 2+ years of experience as a medical office admin within a family practice or specialty is required.
- Medical office admin diploma (or equivalent) is an asset.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- General knowledge of the New Brunswick medical system is an asset.
