Job Description
What is the opportunity?
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Associate Director to lead our Control Assurance and Governance team within Fund Accounting. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring control adherence, audit readiness, and effective interaction with auditors. This is a critical role that requires strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to drive process improvements.
What will you do?
Develop, implement, and maintain a robust control framework to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies.
Conduct regular risk assessments and control evaluations to identify areas for improvement.
Collaborate with process owners to design and implement effective controls, and ensure that control procedures are up-to-date and operating effectively.
Ensure that all fund accounting processes and controls are audit-ready, and that all necessary documentation and evidence are available to support audits.
Coordinate with internal audit teams and external auditors to facilitate audit activities, and ensure that audit findings are addressed promptly and effectively.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive audit readiness plan, including schedules, checklists, and status tracking.
Serve as the primary point of contact for auditors, including external audit firms and regulatory bodies.
Coordinate audit requests, provide necessary documentation and information, and ensure that audit queries are addressed promptly and professionally.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with auditors, and ensure that audit activities are conducted efficiently and effectively.
What do you need to succeed?
Must haves:
Risk & Control Expertise – strong understanding of internal control framework
Governance & Oversight – able to establish and maintain governance framework, policies and standards
Analytical and problem-solving skill – strong data analysis and critical thinking to evaluate control gaps and risk trends
Strategic & Continuous improvement mindset – ability to align control assurance with business strategy and business goal
Nice-to-have:
Familiarity with data analytics or visualization tools
Fund Accounting or Fund Administration background
Strategic and influencing skills – understanding of emerging risk and industry best practices
