The Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture is responsible for fostering economic growth, pride of place, and promotion of our province. We are also responsible for providing art and culture programs, heritage conservation, grants and funding for museums, sport, arts, culture and heritage and overseeing provincial parks.
What you will do:
As a member of the Human Resources team and reporting to the Director, your primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Researching and/or interpreting applicable policies or collective agreements to provide sound advice
- Providing advice and guidance to Human Resources Consultants and Management on various employee relations matters such as grievances, employee misconduct, respectful workplace investigations, progressive discipline, attendance management, Human Rights
- Participating in labour management meetings, adjudications and collective bargaining process
- Liaising with investigator and providing support for workplace investigations (harassment, poisoned workplace, Human Rights issues and employee misconduct).
- Assisting in mediation of grievances, and conflict resolutions
- Working in collaboration with the Human Resources Consultant to identify training needs and develop solutions
- Assisting with the delivery of employee relations training

Required Competencies:
- University degree and a minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in human resources, including experience in labour/employee relations; OR two (2) years of post-secondary education from a recognized institution with seven (7) years of progressive experience in human resources, including experience in labour/employee relations.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: The following operational requirement(s) is also required:
- This position may require some travelling within the province.
Nice to have:
- CHRP designation (Certified Human Resources Professional)
- Industrial or Labour Relations Certification

Wage:
Pay Band 5 - $2,574.00 to $3,595.00 biweekly
Work environment:
- Office Location: Marysville Place, Fredericton
- Office Environment: Open office setting
- Hours of Work: 8:15 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday
