Who we are:
The Services éducatifs francophones team is looking for a dynamic and competent person to fill the role of Director of relations et de l'éducation internationals et interculturelles. Under the supervision of the Assistant Deputy Minister of the Services éducatifs francophones, and in collaboration with the leadership team, the selected individual will, among other things, be responsible for priority actions aimed at strengthening the vitality of the Francophone educational system, including updating and implementing the Politique d'aménagement linguistique et culturel en éducation (PALC), increasing the profile and positioning of New Brunswick's secteur éducatif francophone internationally, and providing strategic leadership in areas such as the integration of immigrant learners, intercultural education, and anti-racism efforts.
What you will do:
The selected individual will have various responsibilities related to personnel management, based on the frameworks established by the Department. They will supervise a team of managers and provincial learning specialists responsible for the Politiaue d'aménagement linguistique et culturel en éducation (PALC), the Programme des Écoles francophones internationals autorisées Canada-NB (EFIA), educational cooperation with Francophone countries, intercultural education, and integration of immigrant learners. The selected individual will also maintain good working relationships within the department and with stakeholders at the provincial, national, and international levels. Additional tasks related to the Director of relations et de l'éducation internationales et interculturelles may be assigned.
The main responsibilities of the job are:
- Lead and supervise all activities of the direction des relations et de l'éducation internationales et interculturelles, including those of the Bureau des relations et de l'éducation internationales (BREI).
- Oversee the update and implementation of the PALC and actions related to the provincial education plan, in collaboration with the Services éducatifs francophones (SEF), school districts, and community partners.
- Expand and deploy the Programme EFIA to support provincial population growth and generate revenue.
- Develop, negotiate, and implement international agreements (educational cooperation, student and teacher mobility, cultural exchanges, Francophone curriculum export).
- Ensure targets are met for the Education pillar of the France-NB and Francophone Africa-NB provincial strategies.
- Represent and position the province internationally within various Francophonie education bodies.
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with embassies, ministries, and international investors.
- Provide strategic leadership in welcoming immigrant learners, intercultural education, and anti-racism through development of initiatives, training, and resources for school staff.
- Contribute to the strategic planning of the Services éducatifs francophones.
- Supervise and support a team of managers and learning specialists (programmes des EFIA and intercultural education).
Who you are:
You have a solid understanding of New Brunswick's Francophone education system and international Francophonie, along with insight into the province's demographic strengths and challenges. You have strong interpersonal and intercultural skills, experience in team management, negotiation, diplomacy, and representation, and you know how to develop and maintain successful partnerships locally and internationally. You are an excellent communicator (both written and spoken), organized, autonomous, and can work well under pressure. You demonstrate creativity and flexibility, have several years of personnel management experience, strong leadership abilities, and always act professionally. You care about the well-being of all learners.
Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:
Need to have:
- Master's degree in education or a related field (public administration, management, international relations)
- Minimum of 8 years in personnel management (at least 2 of those 8 years being the direct supervision of a team)
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in French is required. Please state your language capability.

Wage:
Pay Band 8 - $111,280 - $125,346 annually.
Work environment:
- Office location: 250 King Street, Fredericton
- Team of 6-7 people
- In exceptional cases, a remote work agreement within New Brunswick may be considered
- Regular working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
