Job Details:
We are a growing local public accounting firm. We have been in existence for over 25 years. We focus on small to medium size businesses. We provide a variety of services including the following: preparation of financial statements (mostly Compilations), preparation of corporate income tax returns, preparation of personal income tax returns, bookkeeping services, consulting services and tax planning.
We are seeking a qualified accountant to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent, on-site position that's available immediately.
QUALIFICATION:
- Ideal candidate has at least 3 years of public accounting experience
- Hold Canadian CPA designation.
- Currently residing within Canada and have met the necessary requirements to be able to work in Canada.
- Knowledge and experience with Canadian GAAP and Canadian tax (personal, corporate, excise).
- Proficiency with accounting and tax software such as Caseware, Profile, Quickbooks Online, and Sage 50. Experience with other accounting and tax software is also considered an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Integrity and professionalism in a work environment.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
- Experience with using Jazzit and the completion of T3 Trust Tax Returns would be an asset but not a requirement.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Preparation of financial statements and the associated working paper files for various small businesses using Caseware and Excel.
- Preparation of T2 corporate income tax returns (currently using Profile).
- Preparation of T1 personal income tax returns (currently using Profile).
- Preparation of T3, T4, T4A, T4ANR, T5 and other T Summaries and Supplementary slips.
- Preparation of payroll for small businesses using QBO and Sage.
- Assistance with installing and maintaining various accounting software programs both inhouse and for clients.
- Preparation of WHSCC Annual Employer Statements.
- Responding to client information request letters received from CRA.
- Preparation of HST returns for various businesses.
- Preparation of financial projections for business plans.
- Preparation of bank reconciliations.
- Preparation of trust account reconciliations for law firms.
- Monthly bookkeeping services for various businesses.
- Meeting and corresponding with clients.
- Other duties as required.
