Salary: $45,191 per annum (SEIU Clerk 3). Salary increases to $50,371 following successful completion of 6-month probation period.

Acadia is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Support Clerk to join our Financial Services team. Reporting to the Executive Director, Financial Services, this role supports Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable by ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions, including vendor payments, invoice processing, and reconciliations, while delivering professional customer service.
The Support Clerk processes invoices for approval, ensuring compliance with university policies, matches invoices to purchase orders, verifies documentation, communicates with vendors and employees on payments, assists with purchase and travel card reconciliations, participates in cheque runs and electronic payments, and maintaining financial records.
This role also handles revenue invoicing, posts transactions, monitors aged receivables, and supports collection efforts. Additional duties include processing payments, reconciling deposits, ensuring secure credit card handling, preparing statements of account, following up on outstanding balances, and assisting with reporting, reconciliations, and write-offs.
- Completion of a post-secondary program with concentration in accounting/business or equivalent work experience. Posting experience with complex accounting software would be an asset.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable.
- We are seeking a candidate who has detailed working knowledge of accounting and is comfortable working in a team environment where assignments and processes are closely integrated with the work of others.
- Ability to handle large sums of money and process transactions accurately.
- The ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a busy environment; attention to cut-off dates is essential.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are required, as is the ability to prioritize workload while providing exceptional customer service.
- Must be knowledgeable and proficient in the use of computerized accounting systems as well as MS Office programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
