The Vehicle Management Agency's mission is to provide fleet management and vehicle maintenance services to Government, on an economical basis and according to established standards, to enable clients to deliver quality services to the public.

What you will do

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • coordinating the asset replacement program;
  • managing and coordinating the tender process;
  • forecasting long term asset needs;
  • preparing technical specifications and drawings for vehicle and equipment procurement, as well as for leasing and vendor services;
  • coordinating and distributing major accessory items for all plow trucks; and
  • assessing new products and modifications for the fleet.

  • Office location: 1050 College Hill Road, Fredericton
  • Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday

  • Some travel within the province will be required.

Essential Qualifications:

Engineering and Field Level V:

  • Diploma from a recognized two (2) year post-secondary engineering technology program in the mechanical or civil field with a minimum of four (4) years related work experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick.

If there are no applicants with the above essential qualifications, we may consider applicants with the following qualifications and appoint at a lower classification.

Engineering and Field Level IV:

  • Diploma from a recognized two (2) year post-secondary engineering technology program in the mechanical or civil field with a minimum of three (3) years related work experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick.

Engineering and Field Level III:

  • Diploma from a recognized two (2) year post-secondary engineering technology program in the mechanical or civil field with a minimum of two (2) years related work experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Asset Qualifications:

Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate the following asset:

  • demonstrated experience with CAD software, structural design, vehicle fleet management and/or experience preparing technical drawings.

Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

SALARY:

Engineering and Field Level V: $1,935.00 to $2,434.00 bi-weekly, based on a 36 ¼ hour work week.

Engineering and Field Level IV: $1,763.00 to $2,211.00 bi-weekly, based on a 36 ¼ hour work week.

Engineering and Field Level III: $1,622.00 to $2,036.00 bi-weekly, based on a 36 ¼ hour work week.
