The Department of Finance and Treasury Board has openings for an entry-level auditor to be part of a team that conducts audits under the Revenue Administration Act as well as other statutes and agreements administered by the department.
In a team environment and reporting to the Manager of Audit and Investigation Services, the duties of these positions will involve coordinating and conducting various audits under various government policies, procedures, programs and legislation; summarizing audit findings and conclusions in reports and making appropriate recommendations for changes/corrective measures; communicating results of enforcement activities, audit findings and conclusions to ensure the clients understanding of the cause and effect of errors; providing guidance to clients on appropriate procedures and policies and interpretation of associated legislation; preparing audit files with sufficient and appropriate documentation and analysis to support the audit/examination findings, recommendations and assessments; conducting research; and preparing management reports. Frequent travel may be required.
The position would be of interest to a person interested in undertaking a program leading to a professional accounting designation (CPA).
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS Pay band 3: Candidates must have a university degree complemented by two of the following courses: Introductory Accounting, Intermediate Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting or Managerial Accounting.
Written and spoken competence in English and French is required for the position. Please state your language capability.

Salary:
Pay Band 3: $53,222.00 to $74,360.00 annually
