JOB PURPOSE
The Patient Care Attendant 1 is responsible for performing duties that assist patients with the activities of daily living.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school graduation plus a patient care program/course of at least six months duration or equivalent.
- Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
- Ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Good work record
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Patient Care Attendant 1 is responsible for:
- Assisting with feeding, bathing, and dressing
- Assisting with mobilizing, positioning and transferring patients
- Portering patients to activities and appointments
- Delivering and assisting with meal trays and snacks
- Transporting items such as specimens and charts
- Restocking linens and supplies
- Making beds and tidying rooms
- Cleaning and disinfecting equipment and instruments
