JOB PURPOSE

The Patient Care Attendant 1 is responsible for performing duties that assist patients with the activities of daily living.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school graduation plus a patient care program/course of at least six months duration or equivalent.
• Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
• Ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Good work record

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Patient Care Attendant 1 is responsible for:

• Assisting with feeding, bathing, and dressing
• Assisting with mobilizing, positioning and transferring patients
• Portering patients to activities and appointments
• Delivering and assisting with meal trays and snacks
• Transporting items such as specimens and charts
• Restocking linens and supplies
• Making beds and tidying rooms
• Cleaning and disinfecting equipment and instruments
