QA Technician

Apple Valley Foods Inc is a food manufacturer located in Kentville, Nova Scotia with sales throughout North America. The company is currently seeking a Research & Development Technician to work in a fast paced, progressive and growing environment. This is a full-time position.

• Reporting to the R&D Manager, the successful candidate will:
• Perform QA inspections in all areas of production
• Implement/monitor Quality and Food Safety programs
• Communicate effectively with Lead Hands
• Provide support to the Supervisor and Production employees
• Ensure that all CCP's and CQP's and all other controls are completed correctly
• Equipment calibration
• Product testing
• Assist with training of new employees
• Responsible for maintaining document control and ensuring all employees have current documentation
• Implementation of preventative and corrective actions
