Martin Marietta Materials Canada Limited is currently accepting applications for the following position at the Plant located in Aulds Cove, Nova Scotia:

Labourer

The quarry operation located adjacent to the Strait of Canso is a supplier of crushed granite locally and throughout the Eastern Seaboard, the Gulf Coast States, and the Caribbean. This is a unionized environment, offering excellent benefits and working conditions.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• The Labourer position is critical to support plant needs by ensuring a safe and productive work environment. Primary duties include but not limited to performing a variety of skilled and unskilled tasks or labor operations throughout the facility. Duties may include cleaning, washing, sweeping, shoveling, loading/unloading, and assisting in maintenance work.

Experience - Knowledge & Skills:

• Preference will be given to those with proven experience in mining and/or construction equipment
• Backhoe and skid steer experience is considered an asset
• Observe all safety rules and maintain good housekeeping in work areas.
• Self-starter can work with limited supervision.
• Knowledge of crushing and screening operation

Qualified candidate criteria

• Must have minimum Grade 12 education
• Must have valid driver's license
• able to lift 55 lbs
• Must pass pre-employment physical and drug test and background check
• work rotating shifts
