Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 8:15 am - 4:30 pm | 36.25 hours per week
Salary Range: $48,679 - $60,848 per annum
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Dean, the Financial Coordinator provides financial leadership for the Faculty of Computer Science by managing internal and external funding portfolios; providing financial advice and reporting; leading improvement of financial processes; and being part of the Management Team and Policy and Procedure Committees.
- Collaborate with the Dean in preparation and submission of annual operating budget and in preparation of proposals including one-time priority funding, non-space, A&R, and student technology fee funding.
- Carry forward analysis and recommendations on sources and uses of funds.
- Monitor, maintain, and review accounts for accuracy and coding and reconcile to budget allocations.
- Make appropriate journal entries (both actual and budget) to close out accounts for year end.
- Liaise with outside agencies and companies regarding billings. Request external invoices to be prepared per terms of contracts.
- Be the primary contact for Resource, Planning and Budgeting.
- Make recommendations, implement, monitor and document all Faculty transactions to adhere to UNB fiscal policies and maintain compliance with them.
- Assist faculty members with submitting travel claims, personal reimbursement, PEA requests, advances & cheque requisitions.
- Oversee purchase of computers, equipment, furniture & supplies in accordance with UNB procurement policy.
- Advise Dean, faculty and other support staff on financial and HR related matters.
- Prepare and submit travel arrangements as required.
- Prepare contracts for professional services in consultation with Dean, Risk Manager and Financial Services.
- Carry out other duties as required by the Dean.
WHAT YOU BRING
- An undergraduate degree or diploma in Business Administration with a focus in accounting.
- A minimum of 3 years administrative experience is required with extensive knowledge of computer applications, accounting procedures, and proven ability to work independently under pressure in a professional and mature approach. A combination of education and professional experience may be considered.
