Salary: $60,000 annually

Work Week: Four-day work week (Monday to Thursday)

Recreation NB | Loisirs N.-B. is the provincial non-profit association dedicated to advancing recreation, physical activity, and active living for the benefit of all New Brunswickers. We support members through advocacy, training, resources, and events, helping build healthy, inclusive, and active communities.

The Role

The Active Living Lead is a key member of our team, reporting directly to the Executive Director. This position is responsible for leading the Physical Literacy portfolio and advancing initiatives that support active living across the province. The successful candidate will coordinate projects, deliver training, support members, and develop resources that strengthen the sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Physical Literacy portfolio, including the New Brunswick Physical Literacy (NBPL) initiative.
  • Work closely with the NBPL Committee, PL4C stakeholders and our Atlantic partners to advance physical literacy programming.
  • Coordinate logistics for NBPL workshops and training opportunities (including Essential Playbook Training, Sport for Life courses, and related initiatives).
  • Support Recreation NB | Loisirs N.-B. events such as the annual conference, Trail Summit, and other training series.
  • Oversee updates and content for NBPL's website and social media platforms.
  • Assist with communications and marketing to raise awareness of physical literacy and active living resources.
  • Contribute to broader association activities, member services, and collaborative projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in recreation, kinesiology, physical education, sport management, or a related field.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is required with a high proficiency in French.
  • Experience in program coordination, training delivery & facilitation, and partnership development.
  • Strong understanding of physical literacy and its role in recreation and sport.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities with attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a small team setting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, social media platforms (Instagram), and website management considered an asset.
  • Willing and able to travel within New Brunswick and occasionally work evenings and weekends.
  • Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
