Project coordinator/drafts person ($25.00 - 35.00/hr) (PERMANENT FULL TIME POSITION)

  • An understanding of drawings and associated software (Sketchup, Auto CAD etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience in construction or metal fabrication (considered an asset)
  • A desire to work within a growing/dynamic environment

Duties:

This position is a new growth oriented position within East Coast Metalworks Inc. This position will be supported by both owners to learn and transition the duties as listed below. The most important duty being the production of detailed drawings using drawing software.

• Create accurate 2D detailed drawings using software (Sketchup) for various custom fabrication projects
• Maintain organized documentation of project files, drawings, and revisions, ensuring easy access and retrieval of information as needed by all team members
• Plan and prepare workflow schedules and monitor progress against established schedules
• Work with production staff to manage workload efficiently, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines while maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality
• Manage purchasing of required materials for upcoming jobs and maintenance of inventory levels
• Collaborate with customers, intake new custom fabrication projects
• Perform sales functions
• Prepare estimates
• Maintain a high level of customer service
• Maintenance of job costs
• Bookkeeping/data entry as required including producing and issuing invoices
• Coordination of machinery repairs and maintenance
• Assist in other manufacturing/fabrication related tasks and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors to contribute to the overall success of projects and the company

Education:

• Post-secondary diploma or degree with a focus on project management, architecture, engineering and/or construction
