The New Brunswick Pipe Trades Administrative Office is a central hub for the management of the Pension Trust Agreement and the Employee Life Health Agreement, under the direction of a Board of Trustees of the United Association of Journeyman and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry of the United States and Canada Local 213 and 325.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the New Brunswick Pipe Trades is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Office Manager to support the effective administration of the pension and health benefits program for their membership. This role is responsible for the technical and administrative functions ensuring the accurate and compliant processing of data in accordance with collective agreements and relevant legislation.

As the primary point of contact for pension and health benefit related inquiries, the Office Manager provides expert guidance and timely support to employees and the general membership. With a strong focus on data integrity, compliance and customer service, this role plays a critical part of the high-quality support the New Brunswick Pipe Trades provides to its membership.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administration of the pension and health benefits program including the accuracy and integrity of member and retiree pension and benefits data
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for pension and health benefits inquiries, liaising with active members, retirees, service providers and internal staff to resolve complex issues and enhance communications
  • Electronic payroll administration and processing
  • Maintaining client records on internal software management system
  • Prepare budgets and maintain accurate financial records
  • Serve as primary liaison with multiple money managers and pension consultants
  • Responsible for preparing and presenting reports to the Board of Trustees monthly
  • Presentations to membership and other designated groups as required

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate must have a high school diploma supplemented by completion of post-secondary education in business administration or a related field and five (5) years related work experience.

Written and spoken competence in English is required. Written and spoken competence in French would be considered an asset. Please state your language capability.

Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate:

  • Experience working with boards
  • Supplemental training in the field of pension and health benefits
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating group seminars
  • Strong membership service focus; ability to work well within a team and independently
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities well; strong time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

COMPENSATION: $68,000 to $83,000 per annum based on qualifications and experience.
