Who we are:
The teaching profession is regulated across Canada, including in New Brunswick. To teach in New Brunswick public schools, you must hold an interim or permanent teacher's certificate.
The Office of Teacher Certification is responsible for issuing these certificates, as outlined under the Teacher Regulation Certification 2004-8 (Education Act).
The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (EECD) is seeking an individual to join the Teacher Certification team as a Certification Analyst.
What you will do:
Analyze and make decisions on various applications for certification and related services.
The key responsibilities of the position are:
- Processing initial certification files for teachers trained in New Brunswick and Canada
- Handling and analyzing requests for higher-level certification
- Converting and renewing interim certificates
- Evaluating work experience in relation to the teachers' collective agreement
- Processing applications from internationally trained candidates
- Handling applications for principal's certificates
- Responding to various questions from the public about certificates and related services
- Providing candidates with effective guidance on what steps to take to qualify for the different certificates
- Ensuring effective liaison with universities so that referred candidates can take qualifying courses
- Performing other related duties as required

Need to have:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, education or a related field plus three (3) years' experience in career guidance and training, and academic services.
- Ability to use office technology, software, and applications
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Salary:
Education Program Officer 2 - from $2,491 to $3,006 bi-weekly.
Work environment:
- 250 King Street, Fredericton
- Team of 4 employees
- Standard hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
