JOB SUMMARY:
The incumbent reports to the Manager of Occupational Health and Safety. They are responsible for the overall management and coordination of activities related to the attendance support program. They are responsible for implementing the attendance support program regionally by providing managers with the tools they need and advising them on how to promote employee well-being and attendance, to ensure an optimal work-life balance and productivity at work.
The incumbent is responsible for coaching, training and mentoring managers and supervisors in the use of current best practices in human resources, skills development and understanding the need to support their employees and manage employee attendance. They serve as the primary point of contact to help managers, supervisors and directors resolve attendance issues in a positive and encouraging manner, while helping to combat excessive absenteeism and minimize the associated costs. They participate in attendance-related meetings with managers and are responsible for managing all data related to Vitalité Health Network's attendance support program.
All tasks are carried out in collaboration with the large team of human resources, managers and directors who have a role to play in ensuring that Vitalité Health Network employees attend work regularly. Other related duties may be added for the smooth operation of human resources.
REQUIREMENTS :
- Diploma or certificate in human resources management, disability management or a related discipline;
- Three to five years' experience in the field of human resources, attendance management, disability management or a related discipline, with work experience in a health care environment;
- Experience in a unionized environment; ability to interpret collective agreements considered an asset;
- Knowledge of Vitalité Health Network's current attendance policies, procedures and processes, as well as current best practices in human resources and human rights legislation;
- Ability to demonstrate a great deal of judgment, tact, discretion and confidentiality when preparing, disclosing and handling sensitive confidential information;
- Ease in conducting meetings and defusing heated exchanges when necessary;
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to show initiative and autonomy, and to achieve results by taking initiative and ownership of work;
- Strong problem-solving and change management skills;
- Creativity and initiative in suggesting improvements and encouraging positive results in attendance, by engaging in the adaptation process if necessary;
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders, including frontline employees and management;
- Proven computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office and Outlook; skills in using Kronos and Meditech considered an asset;
- Ability to work in a high-stress environment with tight deadlines;
- Excellent communication, networking, interpersonal relationship and coaching skills;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Physical ability to perform assigned work;
- Good work history (performance and attendance);
