Job Title: Afternoon Shift Production Supervisor

Location: Burlington, ON

Hours: 3:30pm - 12:00am, Monday - Friday (in-person)

Salary: $60,000 to $70,000 annually

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Hire

We are hiring for an afternoon shift Production Supervisor for our client in Burlington. This client sources and processes raw materials including clay and soil for their production facility in Burlington. Successful candidates will have recent and long-term experience in a similar production supervisor role, efficiently organizing employees and meeting production targets. Our client is looking for candidates who can interview and start working immediately!

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee staffing and production activities to align with output goals
• Enhance operational efficiency by allocating workforce, analyzing workflows, identifying constraints, and implementing corrective actions.
• Keep detailed and accurate shift reports and share daily updates with the Plant Manager, including production metrics, performance outcomes, and incident/safety issues.
• Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and work instructions and confirm that team members have access to and use the correct tools for each task.
• Support cross-training initiatives to build a more multi-skilled workforce.
• Track material usage, monitor waste generation, and implement strategies to reduce waste resources and optimize material efficiency.
• Proactively address risks, ensuring availability and use of appropriate PPE, regularly monitoring conditions, and enforcing compliance with all Health and Safety standards.
• Manage a team composed of both permanent and temporary staff (10-15 employees); improve team performance through coaching, goal setting, and performance evaluations, including annual reviews.
• Evaluate operational processes and recommend improvements to boost efficiency.
• Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as needed.

Requirements for Candidates:

• Minimum 2 years in a similar production supervisor role required
• Preference to non-union previous work experience
• Excellent English communication/writing and problem-solving skills required
• Detail oriented and ability to work individually and with a team
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
• A valid forklift license required (Counterbalance - 5,000lb Propane)
