Hours: 8am - 5pm Monday - Friday (in-office)

We are hiring for a Buyer for our client in Burlington. This client sources and processes raw materials including clay and soil for their production facility in Burlington. Successful candidates will have recent and long-term experience in a similar procurement position purchasing materials, overseeing production output and inventory, and working with suppliers. Our client is looking for candidates who can interview and start working immediately!

Job Responsibilities:

• Monitor production and inventory to ensure no production shortages occur; sourcing new materials when needed
• Set and monitor led times and minimum reorder quantities
• Create purchase orders and follow-up with vendors or suppliers regularly
• Monitor CN Rail shipments to ensure materials are arriving on time
• Communicate directly with suppliers as well as responsible for management of supplier relationships; including recurring site visits as required
• Secure new suppliers and establish new supply sources regularly
• Work on continuous improvement of services and reducing costs
• Maintain quality and production data relevant to procured items to ensure ongoing quality standards are maintained
• Maintain all technical data related to each product
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements for Candidates :

• Minimum 3 years in a similar purchasing / procurement role for a manufacturing company
• Experience sourcing raw materials and manufacturing equipment preferred
• Excellent communication and problem solving skills required
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced office environment
• Strong computer skills and advanced knowledge using Microsoft Office programs
